  • Overview

Immunotherapy-based combination regimens continue to transform the treatment landscape for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, long-term safety findings from trials like KEYNOTE-189, CheckMate 9LA, and IMpower150 show that grade 3 or higher immune-related adverse events can occur in up to 30% of patients, with higher rates observed among those receiving dual immunotherapy. Given this risk, Dr. Charles Turck speaks with Dr. Paul Bunn about how we can recognize and manage these toxicities. In their conversation, Dr. Bunn highlights the timing and presentation of immune-related adverse events across organ systems, approaches to monitoring patients in both clinical trial and real-world settings, and key considerations for intervention. Dr. Bunn is a Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the Division of Medical Oncology and the James Dudley Chair in Cancer Research at the University of Colorado Anschutz.
